A Plot for Life

A short movie directed by Vida Kasaei, in collaboration with Amir Komeilizadeh on camera, Setareh Nafisi as performer, music composer and pianist. On Viola Melisa Del Be and on Cello Rosie Taekema Recorded and mixed by Cordelia Frommelt “A plot for life” is illustrating women who are struggling every day with the strict Islamic rules of the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran. It shows how women are imprisoned in public places and how they reflect to this oppression whenever they can: at home, on social media, abroad and with people they can trust. Desolation, obsession, disillusionment, exaggerative appearance is what many women are experiencing in their daily life. This Film is along with the contemporary movements against compulsory hijab which are present in different layers of the Iranian society. “A Plot for life” is based on two notions of body as a medium: limited body and infinite body. Director Vida Kasaei dived into how she can illustrate these two notions considering her personal experiences and perception.
